The movie is adapted from the life story of Ip Man, the grand master of the Wing Chun style of Kung Fu and Sifu (master) of legendary Kung Fu superstar Bruce Lee. Siddhu is a lowly cook at a food stall in Bombay, probably the most insignificant being in a country. One day he meets a group of Chinese elders who have traveled far to find him.  They tell him he is the chosen one, a reincarnation of their greatest hero who they have come to take to his promised land.

However, he is ‘spared’ the most important reason why they have searched for him… Their town in China is beset by a vicious foreign druglord Takeshi. The elders are driven to desperation as they see their children caught up in a horrible nightmare. They miraculously discover that their ancient warrior hero has been reincarnated in India to save them from the most evil and deadly villain the world has ever seen!

So this bumpkin, who is barely capable of assaulting a sack full of vegetables, sets off on the greatest adventure of his life. Armed with an unhealthy dose of enthusiasm, and a potato in which he sees the face of his favorite god Ganesh, he heads to the jaws of peril with the wisdom of a turkey voting for Thanksgiving! Along the way, his path gets entwined with the beautiful Miss Tele Shopping Network, Sakhi, who has embarked on a journey to find her identical Chinese twin Suzie!

Initially Siddhu obliviously sidesteps the traps that Takeshi has set for him with the help of Sakhi’s outrageous shopping gadgets.  Eventually he is inevitably humiliated by his opponent and exposed as the nothing that he is. But now for the first time he believes in himself – he decides to stand up and fight. And when a student is ready, a master will appear… Except the master is washed up, beaten up, and seems completely out of his mind! And he stands precariously on the one leg he has left… So the Indian student and the Chinese teacher set off on a quixotic mission of almost impossible ambition. Blend together some breathtaking action set against the backdrop of some of China’s most spectacular locations, hardcore emotions from deep in the heart, and endless flamboyant, hilarious and outrageous gags, and you begin to get a taste of what’s really cooking!
